The Sangguniang Bayan of Mangaldan has commended the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation during the regular session on Friday, March 26 for winning in a national project grant competition. 

SK YOUnified 2.0 was conducted by the National Movement of Young Legislators in partnership with the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative and the United States Government Alumni Association in Negros Occidental. 

The SK Younified 2.0’s theme is “Youth of the 21st Century (Y21): Development and Empowerment of SKs” allows the participants to understand their strengths and weaknesses, enabling them to collaborate and come up with projects and programs for their respective localities that would advance the cause of the youth during this challenging times,” according to NMYL Facebook post. 

Out of 105 SK officials all over the country Mangaldan has five delegates which include the SK Federation President Michael Ervin Lomibao of Barangay Anolid, SK Federation Vice President Aleah Carbonel Velasquez of Barangay Landas, SK Chairperson Joan Visperas of Barangay David, SK Chairperson Daisyree Aquino Bautista of Barangay Salaan and SK Kagawad Mary Ann E Quindara of Barangay Bantayan. 

The proposed PROJECT RESKYU of the SK Federation of Mangaldan aims to serve the community as emergency health responders; to be first aiders during health emergencies and natural disasters, and to deliver basic health care services.

Resolution Number 82-2021 entitled Resolution Commending the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Mangaldan for bagging second place out of nine Local Government Unit participants in the country in the SK YOUnified 2.0 Program Project Grant Competition conducted by the National Movement of Young Legislators in partnership with the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative and the United States Government Alumni Association Negros Occidental was authored by the Chairman of the Committee on Awards and Recognition Councilor Aldrin Soriano. 

“Mangaldan takes pride in the success of our Mangaldan youth leaders giving inspiration to the youth and even to youth organizations to ideate and implement relevant community projects such as this,” said Councilor Aldrin.
